Founded in L.A. in 1995 but inspired by the Brooklyn streets, Bed Stu handcrafts shoes and boots for women and men. The brand uses traditional shoemaking techniques like hand-weaving and hand-sewing, as well as natural leathers (from free-range animals when possible) and a vegetable-based tanning process, so each shoe is unique and imperfect but always genuine.
These were everything I hoped for- comfortable, chunky sole but not too chunky upper, perfect height. The leather is actually more textured/distressed in person which I love. Cool, 90s, understated but unique. Love.

too small, look cheap
I ordered a 10, and I’m a 9.5/10 and they were too narrow and short, yet the toe was somehow still huge and bubbly looking. Looked like a clown shoe. The distressing isn’t done well so they just look cheap. Returning.

Most comfortable boots ever
I have had my Valdi Hi boots in Black for almost 3 years now. These are probably my most worn boots, aside from some Bonnie and Laurel combat styles. These boots were comfortable right out of the box, and keep getting better the more I wear them. I already stand at 5’10” and these add a good 2” to my height. They look great with jeans, slacks, skirts, and I have even worn them with some mini dresses. I didn’t think I could love a Chelsea style more than my many pairs of Nandi, but I reach for these so much more. Now I am back to get the dark brown. Do I love Bed-Stu? I have over 300 pair of boots, shoes, oxfords, sandals, etc. They are by far my favorite brand of footwear!

Good looking
My right foot has discomfort like a pressure on my foot. Feels like something collapsed. Not a tight enough fit for me around the leg. The longer I keep them on the more they hurt need 1/2 size larger but I’m returning them not really the look I was expecting.
