A pair of mills from Terra Bianco marble — the same stone, the same form, the veining falling differently across each. The body is worked in stacked relief, bands of raised and recessed carving running the full height. The top cap widens slightly, its edge faceted; a small chrome knob sits centered on each. Dinner is already underway — plates down, wine poured, the table fully sat down to. One is lifted and turned, the weight of it noticed before it is pressed and set back. Between courses, both sit at the center of the table, steady among the things that make a dinner worth sitting through.
