Beaded Cocktail Dress

I am a 5'2" 60 year old carrying middle-aged weight. This dress with it's relaxed two-piece styling gently covers midsection woes. The skirt eases over the hips and thighs without drawing attention there, into a pretty flowing skirt. The mesh arms are relaxed not tight. The petite sizing is a key factor for me as the skirt falls to about one inch above my ankle bone and the top part hits at all the right places and is bra friendly. The 3-quarter sleeve are indeed 3-quarter sleeves on me. So, no extensive tailoring required. After numerous dresses/numerous labels, this one fit the best. This brand fit the best. I had an alternate petite style that looked good on me as well in this brand. So many MOB dresses are styled for much more youthful figures or they simply have too much material for shorter frames. This dress is very comfortable as well. My only negatives are the mesh at chest and sequins/beading. While the mesh at the top adds a bit of interest and style to the dress, I would have preferred solid material from top of bustline to neckline. The other style that I considered was styled that way. However this is still Bra friendly and my fashion critiques thinks it looks pretty. The sequins fall off easily simply with trying it on and walking around and sitting in it. I may need to secure them better.

I had been searching for a dress for a wedding event for a couple of months, and I finally found this one that fits me well. I wish I could give it five stars, but I noticed some beads had fallen off before I even tried it on, and more fell off after I wore it once (gently—one size down fits me perfectly). I wondered if exchanging it would make a difference, but since I couldn’t find another dress I liked, I patiently stitched the beads back on. However, more beads kept falling off when I gently shook the dress. I kept repairing it, and after spending over 10 hours stitching in several days, the beads finally seemed to stay in place. I don’t think this dress is meant to be worn only once, so I wonder if the beading process needs improvement to secure each set of beads properly. I love the design, colors, and bead patterns—it’s very elegant—but the poor craftsmanship was extremely disappointing.

Looking for petite size dress for granddaughter's formal wedding occasion. The dress length was perfect but not the fit: Tight on top and bottom overwhelmed my frame adding pounds. Bought in sz 6P and 8P on line for 5’3 height, 130 lbs. 8P better sz match. Dress skirt looked very wrinkly. Returned. I appreciated the dresses selection and ease of the process Nordstrom offers.

Beautiful dress,quality materials, and well made. All the embellishments-beads,sequins, etc.-were very well secured, not loose or threatening to fall off like some other dresses I considered. If you're shorter like me (5'2.5"), it's a flattering just below the ankle length and shows a little bit of your lovely shoes. I recommend this beautiful gown and would buy it again.
