Bateau Neck Organic Cotton Sweatshirt

I searched high and low to find a white classic top to wear with my Sig Zane linen pants purchased in Hilo, Hawaii, which have a beautiful Hawaiian hinahina floral print and a hidden zipper in the back. These pants require a special top with classic simple lines. I love Eileen Fisher for the quality of fabrics, comfort and classic simple style. When I saw this top online I knew it was the perfect piece I’d been hoping to find - simple yet elevated due to the soft organic cotton knit fabric, clean lines and cuffs at the sleeves and hem. I do agree with other reviewers that the neckline could be narrowed a little. However, the bateau neckline is what makes this piece a classic staple for my wardrobe. It can be dressed up or down with jewelry and looks lovely with my Hawaiian aloha print slacks, jeans or shorts. I’m really happy with the purchase and will wear it often with different bottoms. It will be a perfect versatile top for travel!

I purchased the white in medium and I enjoy wearing with pilates gear or tank top and leggings.

I like that this top is lightweight, but the neckline is much bigger than I realized and I have found I need to wear a tank top (or similar) under it to keep my bra straps from constantly showing. I am disappointed in that aspect, otherwise it is a versatile, comfy top.

I wouldn’t have this top if it weren’t for the excellent stylists at the Chevy Chase EF! I knew I didn’t like my normal size in this top. In a size M the arms and body were crazy looking. It took an XL for it to truly hang properly. Paired it with a linen jersey tank to hide my bra straps, pulled over one shoulder and Voila! Perfect! My office is unnaturally frigid. This piece will get lots of wear this summer. Glad I pulled the trigger on this. First pairing it with aegean wash freepeople good luck barrel jeans, yep, white pants are also a given. Not sure what else I’ll try, but this color makes me very happy and sets off my medium brown skin tone perfectly summery. Yay, me!
