Wax Thornproof Dressing

boiling water didnt melt the wax, my hairdryer did. It’s a very messy process tho it turned out great, just remember to run the hairdryer all over your barbour jacket once you put the wax on so the fabric soaks em in evenly.

I had good success with this product reproofing an LL Bean waxed cotton field vest the one that also came in blaze orange I still think about to this day… I’d had it a while and I queried the Bean ‘caaaaaan I use Thornproof?’ And they’re like ‘oh you don’t need to do that’ xP and I look at my vest and made an executive decision and im impressed it looks glossier, water beads up from what I see. Holds a crease. There are helpful videos and one particular bad video (‘the guy in the video was using a different kind of sponge but a sponge is a sponge’) out there, heat the can in a 2 cup heat resistant measuring glass that is rated for boiling hot water and float it in there. Proper tools, hairdryer. Have fun and take pride in protecting your investment.
