Gosford Quilted Jacket

I’ve been wearing Barbour jackets for 30 years. The quality of this jacket is not what I know from this brand. Poor construction and materials.

Although this comes from Barbour’s mass-produced in Asia “fashion line”, it’s still well-made and the size 12 fits me well. For reference, I’m 5’2” and pear-shaped (typically 12-14 top and 14-16 bottom). Yes, it’s not the same quality as my made in England Bedale waxed cotton jacket that I’ve been wearing for over 15 years. However, I wanted something like my classic Burberry quilted jacket that I’ve had for 25 years and sadly is a little snug on me now. I think this will do the trick for the in between seasons. It’s not very insulated so won’t do when it really gets cold. The dark navy is very dark, almost black. I like the high collar too - makes the jacket a little more fashion-forward.

This is a lightweight quilted jacket that will be easy to wear in fall and spring and most of winter in the South. Not meant to be bulky and heavy, it is comfortable and the wide collar is cute and adds a little touch of drama. I wear 4-6 on top and bought the 6 because my hips are more like an 8, jacket fits with plenty of room for layers under as well. I may even have been able to size down, but don’t mind this size.

If you want a cute cropped jacket- this fits the bill. If you are looking for standard Barbour quality this is very much below their full price standard. Sending back because even with the sale, 200 was too much for their lower quality.
