Erma Waxed Cotton Jacket

Although this jacket is made in Moldova, it still has the great quality that Barbour is known for. However, it is different than their traditional waxed cotton jackets. I already have 2 Barbour waxed coats - a 17-year old classic Bedale and an inherited full-length mac, both made in England. They both utilize 6oz waxed cotton and are weighty. My Bedale can get even heavier when I zip in an insulated liner. This jacket utilizes 4oz waxed cotton which is 30% lighter. That could be why critics of this jacket deem it too thin. Unless you’re in a more temperate climate, this will not get you thru the winter as it is not insulated. However, the lighter weight does make it great for travel. Since I’m 5’2”, I do appreciate the shorter length on this although it doesn’t really give enough coverage for true rain protection. The sleeves are still too long even with turned back cuffs. The fit is generous. For reference, I take a 12-14 top, and a 14-16 bottom. A size 10 in this was plenty big enough. Overall, I would consider this more a fashion statement than a true rain jacket. Based upon that I’m just trying to convince myself that I really need it.

Loved this jacket and went by size chart runs very large by the time I received it the sale was over and even though they had a smaller size Nordstrom would not honor the sale price Disappointed

I ordered a UK size 6 in this jacket and received a UK size 8, which swallows me. Someone in the ordering/purchasing department needs glasses so the correct sizes are shipped and delivered. Now these are out of stock. So now, Nordstroms, what am I supposed to do??

The price doesn't match the quality. Fabric is super thin.

It’s a beautiful jacket however I am disappointed that I was sent a used or very poorly packaged jacket. I reordered it in a smaller size and was sent the Barbour jacket in a clear bag inside a plastic Nordstrom bag. It felt like a used product. The buttons did not have the protective tissue and the collar was crumpled badly. The first jacket(larger size) was packaged beautifully in a box with a hanger. I’m so disappointed.

Im a summer girl and this jacket has me excited for fall. I love it so much!
