Beadnell Summer Quilted Jacket

This is a beautiful jacket and I so wanted to love it. But the European sizing of Barbour jackets is tight in the shoulders but wide in the hips and Barbour jackets are not a good fit for women who have broad shoulders. It is also frustrating that year after year Nordstrom continues to stock very, very few larger sizes in all of their Barbour jackets and they sell out in a quick minute.

After 3 tries I finally got the right size. I initially ordered an 8 per sizing guide in navy which was too big with very long sleeves. Had to return. I ordered a 6 in black which fit but had to return because of color. I FINALLY got a 6 in Navy which was perfect!! True to size. I’m glad to see sizing has been updated to True to size!!!

I love love love this jacket; it’s both classic and flattering. I am 5’6+, 160, 34C, and got a 8 in Navy - it is a great fit. I would say, true to size. The length is just right and not too short! For me, it is slightly tight around the shoulders (when layering), but I am not planning on hiking etc with this jacket. In terms of weight, it is lightweight 3 season jacket. Don’t be turned off by “summer” in the title, I typically wear my North Face Puffer year-round and this is a fancier version. Also, pleased with all the deep pockets (wish there was an inside breast pocket), and adore the patterned fabric around the wrists and collar. Note the sleeves fell perfect on my wrists (like the model) when not rolled and shorter when rolled; while a no-duh comment, if you know you will always have the sleeves rolled up consider sizing up. In short, I feel like a million bucks and 10lbs lighter in this jacket!
