Storied British brand Barbour has been making classic waxed jackets by hand for over a century. In the years since Barbour's founding, this family business has expanded into technically advanced clothing designed for a full lifestyle while remaining true to the core values of "wit, grit and glamour" of its beautifully functional pieces.
Absolutely love this jacket! The color is perfect. Totally worth the price. Very warm, wouldn't need a heavier jacket unless the temp was in the 30s. Size 6 fit well, I am 5"4, 130lbs. I am normally a 4. Can wear a chunky sweater underneath and still have it fit well. Would highly recommend this jacket!

Flaps in back make your rear end look huge
At a price like this, I expect this jacket to be flattering, as well as functional. It is a very functional jacket, and if that's all that matters to you, then this jacket is very well-made. However, if how it makes you look is important to you, pass! This jacket looks just fine from the front, but turn to the side and the snap-flaps in the back add about two inches to your rear end. Take a look in the mirror at the rear view, and now your rear end looks about four inches wider. No thank you.

Perfect Fall-Winter Jacket
I don't know where to start with this piece, except that I'm obsessed. It's hard for me to find a jacket that's slim fitting and still hits at the right length in the waist and the arms, because I'm tall and thing, but this one hits the mark for me. I have just enough room to layer underneath it without any substantial bulk or looseness. I already have a waxed cotton beadnell, and the fit is different--the fit in general here is longer. The jacket is longer and leaner than the classic jacket, and the sleeves are much longer. It also has relatively substantial lining--maybe not enough for the dead of winter here in New England, but certainly enough to take me through the chillier days in fall, well into the cold season, and through the frigid temperatures in early Spring. I got it in the navy and the color, combined with the impeccable cool-toned lining and subtle sheen of the fabric is absolutely beautiful. I've found it does run a bit small in the arms/shoulders--I had to go up a size, but the fit is still really excellent in other areas of the jacket, so the sizing seems to be conscious of this.

Simply love it!
I recently bought this in black and will likely use for the rest of my life. It's so good in all the best ways: warm and fuzzy (due to the fleece lining) but not bulky. Truly useful pockets (the front inserts also fleece lined) while the larger pockets can hold keys, phone or gloves. The tartan sleeve lining is a great touch. I like the added wind/neck flap - which is removable and can fit into aforementioned pocket. Seriously just get it! Sizing is true to my dress size.

Great fall jacket
This is a beautiful jacket! I live in Montana and will be wearing this in the fall during cool evenings and brisk weekend outings. It has a nice weight and a stylish corduroy collar with a plaid lining on the cuffs. I looked at the waxed cotton Beadnell but opted for this style instead. I ordered a 12 which is the size of all my coats and jackets (I wear a large in The North Face or Canada Goose for reference - 5’6” 160lbs). It’s roomy with plenty of space for a sweater or sweatshirt underneath. I could have went down to a 10 but believe it would have been too tight across the shoulders. It does flair at the hips a bit but this makes it much more comfortable for sitting. Overall I’m very pleased with this jacket.

An updated classic with odd sizing
Barbour makes excellent outerwear that’s durable, warm and will never really go out of style. This is my second of their jackets and it’s beautifully made. The olive green color is not drab so it won’t wash out even those of us with the palest of English complexions. Personally I don’t believe the back flap (meant to be unsnapped when you’re riding your horse across the vast parkland of your country estate) makes your rear end look any bigger or smaller than it actually is. Do follow the recommendation regarding sizing: I found it ran very small compared to my other Barbour coat. At 5’4 and about a hundred pounds I needed to go up to a 4 to get a fit that accommodates a thicker layer or two underneath. Also unless you have super short arms you won’t be rolling the sleeves up - they’re too short. One last point: this isn’t a super warm coat, but it’s perfect for fall days in the 50’s.
