Men pure-formance™ Conditioner

Smells amazing but does not do a great job. Would not recommend. You have to use at least twice what you would normally use.

I'm not one to write reviews, positive or negative, but as others have clearly noted, this is such a different product than it used to be - completely watered down and my scalp also began to itch in a manner I've never experienced. Meanwhile, the cost of Aveda's products continue to climb at a remarkable pace, which makes me question my longtime loyalty to the company. Seems like outright profits win again. Quite disappointing.

I should have given more weight to the growing number of reviews that this conditioner has become far too watery and ineffective. One bottle contained the new, watery formula but I bought another thinking the first was from a bad batch. Wasted money a second time. Won't make that mistake again. Seems Aveda is cutting costs and quality everywhere and is on a quick decline.

I'm a long-time user of this conditioner. I just started a new bottle and as others have said, the formulation has obviously changed. It used to be thick, like a cream; now it's watery. And the fragrance seems different and not as strong. I haven't used it enough yet to know if that will make a difference to my hair. My girlfriend always used to say she loved how my hair smelled; I hope she still likes it!

These products are a splurge for me and I will stop using it after 5 years. The product has become very watery. After one bad bottle I ordered again - same thing. I will still use the gel but probably stop the shampoo too as I think this formula could have changed.

I've been using this conditioner for at least 5 years and have been happy. It USED TO BE thick and creamy until this last bottle I bought in Jan 2023. Thick and creamy is good as I have lots of thinning fine curls, and I need to put conditioner only on my ends, nowhere near my roots to plump my curls and cover my emerging bald spot, but with this new runny formula, it drips down to my scalp and weighs down my curls. It's so runny it doesn't coat my hair like it used to. Other Aveda conditioners are too heavy for my hair, and this is the one I've stuck with after a good bit of experimentation with various Aveda products. My wife uses the Nutri-plenish light formula, but that's still too heavy for my hair. I called Aveda and asked if they'd changed anything with the pure-formance conditioner. No, they said and sent me a replacement bottle. The replacement is as runny as the one I bought in the Aveda store at the mall, and now I see others complaining of the same thing - runny Pureformance onditioner. It's already expensive, but if it works, I choose to suck it up, but now It appears to be about 50% diluted, so essentially I'm paying twice as much, which is outlandish, even for Aveda. Aveda has now gone over my threshold of what I'm willing to pay to keep my hair nice. I've got about 6 weeks left on the two bottles I have begun experimenting with non-Aveda shampoos and conditioners as I don't want to support Aveda in any way any more. I'm sure there's something out there that will work for my curls that isn't runny like the Pureformance conditioner is now whose formula "hasn't changed." Following my experience, my wife has decided this is enough for her as well. She's disgusted with the change and the denial of any change, and has decided she's paid far more than is reasonable given she uses the Nutri-plenish shampoo and conditioner and says it's outlandishly priced, but she loves the scent, but she's had it with Aveda, too. We're done with Aveda, sad to say.
