Tuxedo Hourglass Tailored Coat

This is one of the highest quality pieces of clothing that I have been able to purchase for a reasonable price in a long time. Taking this out of the box today, I was absolutely amazed. It is a garment that is a bit heavy coming out of the box - because it's well made ! Once on, it is not too heavy. It's just really quality fabrics, and lined. I normally wear a size 6 regular, as my shoulders are broader than those of most petite women , and this jacket fit like a glove - except for the length of the sleeves and the overall length of the jacket. I'm 5'2', and this jacket, unfortunately, was 2 or 3 inches above my ankle bones. The sleeves were too long, of course, and needed to be hemmed an inch , and one of the four buttons at the cuff area would need to be moved up. The cost to have this garment altered would have been a lot, so I dropped it back at Nordstroms today. That jacket is waiting for a tall woman to buy it. And it's fabulous, it really is. It's been a long time since a jacket or dress actually fit me like a glove around the waste, shoulders, hips. Gosh it was great. And I can definitely see some great flexibility with this piece - wearing it with a skirt to the office and a fabulous blouse, or more casual, or as a dress, possibly. I'll have to remember this brand. I'm actually impressed. I miss the days of clothing being made in a way that it would last a decade or more - and still look good. We really did used to have clothing made in a quality way that regular gals ( not just rich ones buying Chanel, etc) could purchase. Yes quality materials, fabrics lined, accurate sizing, all of that...... Maybe this jacket is a sign of hope that we will get quality back in this country for our clothing.
