Avaya Half-Zip Minidress

I normally wear a size 12- I’m broad in the shoulders. Ordered the extra large an it’s too big. Boxy looking on top and armholes show bra if your arm is up. Not crazy about the long front tie either. Bought both colors. Sending back. I’m a big Varley fan, but this was a miss for me.

I really like the color of this dress, and when the influencers were styling it with the loafers and the little straw bag, I thought it would be so cute and then it came out of the box and it was very heavy. I knew right then it was gonna be a material that would not be good for summer and then I thought it was a hand wash who wants to hand wash a heavy dress like that no thank you you back. I've seen other women wearing Varley dresses in the wild—they always look so put together and comfortable, so I decided to buy one this summer. I wore this SO much this summer, paired often with a Varley cardigan/jacket in the same Pristine color. Talk about instantly polished and very comfortable. Pristine is a gorgeous cream color — I wore it in airports, the Newport mansions, and just going to the grocery store. I find the cut of the DoubleSoft fabric is really flattering — it doesn't cling to bumps or lumps. One thing is, the cut of the collar was a little stiff; if you unzip more, the collar/neckline doesn't open wider — but that didn't bother me too much. I love this dress so much and can't wait to wear it again next summer.

After 1 wash the hem on the front of the dress above the drawstring is already coming out. Love the cut of the dress, but VERY disappointed in the quality.

This dress fits me like a glove! It is so comfy! Many reviews complained about the dress feeling heavy. However, it is high quality fabric and the dress hangs beautifully. If the fabric did not have any weight, it would be flimsy and I can't imagine what the fit would look like. This dress is so versatile, and it travels well! I am going to buy another color!
