Botanical Sunscreen Natural Spray SPF 30 6 oz

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how Austrian Gold offers a continuous spray formulation of their sunscreen in various SPF levels. The scent is pleasant, it dries nicely on the skin and doesn't feel or look sticky or oily. I don't always re-apply sunscreen as frequently as I should whenever I have makeup on, but this makes it really easy and convenient to do since it doesn't disrupt your foundation. You also get a decent amount of product with good ingredients at an affordable price. Highly recommend, especially if you have trouble finding sunscreens that don't leave a white cast or streaks all over your skin. Also, on a side note.. I've been seeing a ton of misleading and false information about sunscreen going around lately online and even here in the product reviews, so I thought I'd provide some information that'll hopefully help clear up some of the confusion. To the people wondering if this sunscreen is free of chemicals, the answer is no, and you're not going to find one that is. All skincare ingredients, including water, are chemicals so there's no such thing as a truly "chemical free" sunscreen. The two types of ingredients used for sun protection are mineral (aka "physical") and synthetic, which is sometimes referred to as "chemical". There are 2 mineral sunscreen ingredients (titanium oxide and zinc) and over 30 synthetic ones (the most common include: oxybenzone, octinoxate, octisalate, and avobenzone). Both types are equally protective and there is nothing inherently better or worse about formulas that contain mineral vs. synthetic sunscreen ingredients. It really just comes down to personal preference, but the bottom line is that they protect your skin from sun damage and you're not going to get better or "safer" coverage using one over the other.
