August Ankle Strap Platform Sandal (Women)

Gorgeous! These shoes remind me of the kind of platforms I wanted as a kid in the Y2K years but my mom said no because “I’d break an ankle.” Well I’m a grown up now and finally have my dream sandals! Once I found the size which fit, I was thrilled! I can be an 8-8.5 in heels/sandals but always an 8.5 in other shoes. I landed with 8M. The “however” part of the title: The manufacturing process seems to yield widely varying and inconsistent construction, even in the same color way. I initially ordered 8.5M and 8.5W to start. Both were nearly an inch too long and hit my arch wrong, but toe box felt great (I have bunions). Ordered 8M and 8W in both tan and the blue. The 8M in blue was perfect, so comfy and great length on my foot. The 8W was huge in width on me, mostly in the ankle strap not as much the toe box, much more so than the 8.5W. The 8M in the tan was so tight the knot dug into my foot. My point: if you strike out in width and the comfort of that top knot, don’t despair. I’d recommend ordering it again in the same size and it might turn out great! Luck of the draw it seems.
