Material not suited for moisture
Wore these in Costa Rica for 2 weeks and ended up throwing them away. First the thong rubs the skin between your toes raw when wet. But the main reason for the 1 star is that after a week the flip flops smelled like vomit despite putting them outside to dry whenever they got wet and washing them.

Straps are way too long. Unusablr
The straps are too long. I'm not flat footed but it seems like the strap length was designed to accommodate a much taller foot. It makes it so if I just walk without using my toes to keep the sandals on, they will just get kicked off my feet when I walk. So unusable for me. Super disappointed as I've never had this issue with any other flip flop, love astral shoes and researched long and hard for the right flip flops.

the good, the bad, and the ugly...
Sturdy construction?...yep. Soft like an after session surf flip? Not so much...Strap comfort? A little bit rough. The addition of the mid foot stabilizing strap? Brilliant!...the design of "zones" for fore foot and rear foot? Not necessary and actually a slight annoyance....Do I like these flips? For the most part, yes....But it might be a year or so of good wear to break them in...

need more arch
I wish these had better arch support. I love astrals and the great grip when wet, but I find the medium arch shoes would be more comfortable with a high arch, so this minimal arch flip just doesn't work for me. Love the addition of the strap to make them useful for a hike to the lake, not just kayaking the lake. If the arch gets higher they would be keepers. Currently prefer my chacos.
