stable shoe
These shoes are very stable. I bought them because they are similar to HOKA's, but HOKA hurt my calves. These are helping me recover from a broken foot, but I will use them for walking hils after this. They are very comfortable. Some say the back smooshes down, and I am careful putting them on as I can see how this would happen, but I am completely happy with the comfort, and stability, and soles of these shoes. They do have a good arch support.

Used Shoes
These shoes were worn and used by someone, returned and resold. The soles and fabric were dirty, these shoes were visibly used. This is totally unacceptable. Nordstrom needs to check merchandise before it’s accepted back and also when it’s sent out for delivery!

Disappointing changes
I have had gel kayano shoes for many years. This latest is not for me. They changed something with the foot bed and it feels strange on my foot. Maybe trying to get a Hoka feel. Now the bottom sort of comes up and surrounds the foot. I have large feet to begin with (10.5), I don't need them to look 2 or 3 sizes larger than they are. Very disappointing to have to send them back.

Questionable Quality
I really wanted to like these shoes, and I might have if they were both constructed the same way. The toe box in the right shoe was wider than the one in the left shoe. I gave them a wear, but even after tightening the laces all the way, my foot still moved around and I found myself trying to keep stabilizing. This is not a foot size issue, it was definitely the shoes. I've been a Gel-Kayano wearer for many years and never had an issue until now. The left shoe (that felt like a normal Asics fit) was comfortable. I will return this defective pair and give them one more try (hoping for the best).
