No front pockets, not coated.
The fit is ok and they are comfortable. However, hard to tell if they are "coated" as the denim is soft and not at all "leather like." The 29" inseam is surprisingly short for me, and they seem to be an absolute lint magnet. I tried them on and took them off within about 5 minutes and they are covered with lint from I don't know what. Oh, and there are no front pockets. The note about five pocket style is misleading. Sending back.
