Argento Vivo Personalized Small 3-Initial Letter Monogram Necklace

i've wanted one of these for a long time. I do love the size and the lettering, but I wish I'd ordered it in regular gold. For some reason, the rose gold is a little dull and unatural looking. I didn't realize it would look like that and now that I have it, it's too late to do anything about it. I'll wear it though. It just doesn't really look as expensive as it actually was. I knew it wouldn't be real gold of course, but for close to $100, I expected it to be a lot more "expensive" looking if that makes sense. It looks a little like something I'd buy at Claire's. :(

This little necklace is darling and everything I hoped it would be with exception of the quality of the piece itself. Yes, I know, there's quite a contraction in that statement, let me explain. The size is just right, about the size of a quarter. It's a little thinner than a quarter and obviously a mite lighter due to the cut outs of the letters. The letters are nicely finished - no burs or raw edges. The design is super cute! (Of course- that's the reason I bought it - Plus I just Love monogrammed things). If the review could stop there, it would be the perfect little piece! But unfortunately, that's not where the story ends. What bothers me about this piece involves its finish. It is supposed to be 18k gold plated sterling silver. One side. the back, is a weird matte/brushed finish and the show side is the true gold. It's almost as though they were skimping on the gold plate, so they just did the front. To some this might not matter because, hey, it's the back, it rests against your skin anyways. Perhaps there was a reason other than being cheap for this other finish but, none is offered and I can't come up with a particularly good one, I guess you can make sure your monogram is facing the correct way out, I would simply prefer the entire necklace be uniform smooth gold plate. The whole centerpiece collects fingerprints like crazy. Also, the chain isn't great quality and due to how it's attached, it would be very difficult to replace or change. I had really high hopes for this purchase, Nordstroms doesn't usually let me down, but I have to rate the "Personalized Small 3-Initial Letter Monogram Necklace" average to mediocre. I'll wear it occasionally but not as proudly as I do my solid gold pieces.

I ordered this necklace originally thinking it would be MUCH bigger!! Do not order this if you are worried about it being too small, I definitely recommend purchasing the large version instead. Since it is a personal product you cannot return it so you have to make sure its exactly what you want! also I don't recommend the rose gold, turned out much more red and rusty, gross!
