With a name inspired by the first reptile to sprout feathers for flight, it's no surprise Arc'teryx is all about creating outdoor clothing and gear that allow users to perform at the point of extreme need. Its innovative, highly technical outerwear protects against the elements while ensuring ease of motion for an optimal outdoor experience.
3rd one I’ve bought now, 2nd one since the revise. Really like the new material. Use it as everyday wear for living up in the north. Love the design with the pocket on the shoulder.

Scuffs easily, larger sizes now too big
New version is a huge downgrade from previous versions, of which I have many colours. Improved abrasion resistance? My wife's pilled and scuffed on the back the first time wearing it with a light cross-body bag that just held a shell. New sizing on XL is ridiculously too big, including arm length, so thankfully tried on in store and won't purchase again as L is now looser than the old XL. Wife bought S which hasn't changed, except the quality. Clearly, cost savings were more important than the claims of improved abrasion resistance.

Hello Jamie, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the updated Covert Cardigan. We’re glad to hear you’ve enjoyed previous versions across multiple colours, and we’re sorry that the latest iteration hasn’t met your expectations - particularly around the new fit, the changes to XL sizing, and the abrasion‑resistance claims. Your notes about the fabric pilling and scuffing after light wear, as well as the differences you’ve noticed compared to your wife’s previous Covert, are important for us to hear. We appreciate you taking the time to outline these concerns, and we’ll make sure your feedback is passed along to the appropriate teams.

How to ruin an Icon
I buy one of these cardigans every year they’re amazing, built, tough, and very versatile. I was very disappointed by the one I got this year as the sizing had been revised to a more standard fit maybe an effort to make this an outer layer rather than a middle layer at any rate a primarily shopped this brand because of the amazing fits and cuts of the garments, which align with different athletic activities that I enjoy, but making this more bulky and frumpy, I think was the wrong direction in revising this garment. Maybe you forgot your customer base was.

Not a cardigan anymore
So the old cardigans could pile horribly but the fit was just great - but it was supposed to as a sweater/cardigan. It isn’t one of those anymore it’s a regular fleece. So bear that in mind sure they changed the design but not in the best way the old cardigan needed elbow patches as well as piling shaves - elbows would go shiny after much wear. Too early to tell if this one will. But they should change the name. Shame really.

Hello Dave, thank you for sharing your feedback on the Covert Cardigan. We appreciate hearing from guests who have experience with previous generations of the product, and we are glad to hear that the fit of the older versions worked so well for you. That said, we are sorry to hear that the updated design did not meet your expectations. We understand how disappointing it can be when a long-time favourite evolves in a way that differs from what originally drew you to it. We appreciate your detailed feedback regarding the changes to the overall design and your comparison to previous versions of the Covert Cardigan. We will be sharing your feedback with our product team for review. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and help us improve.

Too roomy with updated fit
Prefer the old fit, which was athletic and fitted, to the new roomier fit. I know loose fits are trendy right now but this product should've been left alone. I wouldn't want to layer anything under this other than a light shirt or base layer, so I don't see the excuse of "extra room for layering." I want to be able to layer on top of this, not under.

Hello there, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the updated fit of the Covert Cardigan did not meet your expectations. The latest version was intentionally redesigned with a regular fit rather than a fitted silhouette to improve mobility and make layering over base layers more comfortable, and it also features updated fabric with enhanced abrasion and pilling resistance. We understand that guests who preferred the more athletic fit of previous generations may find the new fit roomier than expected, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective. Your feedback regarding the updated fit will be shared with our team.

Same covert, but a big roomier
Same great product like always! Cote has always been my go to fleece. The updated version however it fits large. Just be aware when ordering. I don’t think it is large enough that you would go down a size just fits bigger width wise.
