Aquatalia prizes innovative technologies and meticulous Italian design and craftsmanship, making the brand a leader in the functional luxury market. Aquatalia designs expertly combine of-the-moment fashion with lasting comfort and incredible durability; all Aquatalia shoes are fully weatherproofed and stain resistant, making them favorites for years to come.
It has been years since I found a pair of tall boots that fit my large calves. In a "what the heck" moment I decided to try these. I was prepared for another disappointment, but miraculously the 12 inch circumference stretched easily to fit my 15+inch calf. Very comfortable to walk in. The suede is lovely and I've had no problem with the color bleed others have described.
So tempted to buy a second pair!

Slides Down
I love Aquatalia - beautiful shoes, beautiful fit. However, the stretch fabic of this suede boot slides down as you walk. I just feel that, at this price, the boot should remain in place.

Dye bleeds all over everything
I LOVE these boots - they are beautiful, classic, comfortable, fit well and - despite the relatively high heel - are very easy to walk in. However, when I put them on, my hands come away covered in black dye. This shouldn't happen with any boot, but particularly not at this price point. I will contact Nordstrom and if it is just a defective pair, and hope I can replace them -- but they are essentially unwearable (imagine the white shirt you are wearing covered in black fingerprints...) I did see an Amazon review of this boot noting the same problem, so I am a little bit worried that Aquatalia has some sort of defective finishing process.
But -- other than the dye issue, which is critical, the boots are phenomenal.

Rhumba Boot
Great book that make your calves look thinner, if you have thick calves like I do.

Love!
Just like everyone else has said, this is the boot I've been looking for. Super comfortable, easy to walk in, hugs your leg. I'm on the shorter side and it still works for me although I wish someone would come out with petite boots. The suede makes your leg look much more streamlined with tights than regular leather. Easy to get on/off - just love! Much more than I wanted to spend on a boot but if you love and wear them for years, they are worth every penny! Also, I've bought this brand before and they are the only ones still in my closet after years of wear, they really hold up well.

worth reviewing
I don't usually do reviews due to time constraints, but this boot is so beautiful that I decided to make an exception. The heel looks high, but doesn't feel high when wearing it. I walked a mile to dinner in NYC and felt like I was wearing sneakers. It looks great with jeans, dresses, skirts. You can dress it up or down. It fits snug, although, if you have a skinny calf/ankle there is some extra fabric.

amazing!
This is my fifth - and most expensive pair of Aquatalia boots, a brand I have been buying since 1997. I wanted to buy last year, but $700?? I waited for a sale, which never came so popular are the boots. Gratified to see them appear again this year, for they are surely a classic. I have dark brown Aquatalia Roar and like the boots very much, but wear them with skirts and dresses that cover the elastic back. Rhumba, made famous by Kate Middleton, is on a different level, and I'll happily wear them with above the knee or knee skimming dresses and skirts, or leggings, as they are gorgeous from every angle! That is what $200 dollars more will buy you. With superb design and minimal seams, Rhumba has no 'panel' in the back. Rhumba fits like a glove yet is comfortable on the leg and to walk in. They are not bulky and they are light, and the fact they use the finest black suede, which creates a soft, feminine look, and the suede used is waterproof just makes the boot. I do think Rhumba boots are meant for slim legged women, but they do stretch a bit, but for those of you with thicker calves, give some of newer models with back panel a try and you'll have almost the same look. BTW: my boots from 1997 are still good! Fantastic, handcrafted Italian quality!
