While APC has been religiously producing raw 100% cotton for over 25 years, a few years back they introduced some stretch designs (like this one). While this denim is not technically considered "raw" by industry standards, APC still calls it their unwashed, starched right from the loom. And while they may not be as crazy extreme as the 100% cotton raws, these jeans WILL fade and patina just like their raw indigo designs.
Since the stretch denim is newer there is very little info out there about them, so hopefully this is helpful: The 100% cotton raw PNS from APC you can expect to stretch up to 2 full sizes in the waist. While the stretch denim (these) will stretch, only expect about 1/2-1 full size waist stretch (i.e. don't need to size down as far). The denim weight is slightly thinner (but still "thick" in my opinion) and there isn't the fancy selvedge edge on these, but that does NOT necessarily mean they aren't still selvedge.
I've been wearing my 98%/2% PNS for about 25 days now and they are forming perfectly. I prefer the stretch denim because, for me, comfort for the first couple months outweighs the "best possible fades". I'm already getting some and they're looking great, I'm confident I'll be excited about the way these break in. The jury is still out on overall durability of 98/2 vs. 100% cotton, but IMO these are going to hold up phenomenally.
When you do your first soak/wash be sure to use cold water as hotter water can damage the elastic in the denim. Also, of course, never put your jeans in the dryer.
Note: All the info above was from direct correspondence with APC's corporate offices and my personal experience.
I'm 5'10", 155 lbs, my "true waist" (measured along my hip bone where my pants sit) is 31", and I am a 28 in these. APC definitely is designed for a specific body type, especially the PNS cut, but they're definitely worth trying on and seeing for yourself. Best fit of any denim I've owned.

This is also the "stretch" version, not being 100% cotton. Not sure why the website are showing two stretch styles under different item numbers. Make sure if you are after the classic heavy ounce APC style, that it's listed as 100% cotton.

Perfect denim for slimmer folks
For slimmer folks like myself, these jeans are a perfect fit: they are fitted through the seat and things and taper below the knee. The wash is a tad darker than what you see online, but since they are raw denim, they will be super stiff once you get them. Where them in a little bit, and they will start to mold to your body.
They are true to size, but it's raw denim with a 2% polyurethane mix, so they will stretch a little.

Great Slim Fit Raw Denim Jeans
This PNS still has better fit compare to other raw denim brands. I down size one from my normal size to get the slim but not skinny fit. I also own other APC jeans like NS, NC, and PS. This PNS is slimer than NS but way more comfortable than PS.

Great fit for tall and thin
Very comfortable -- much softer than the non stretch versions, and long for tall people. I'm 6'4" and these are long enough to even have a cuff.

Great Fit!
Overall great slim fit jean. The material is very soft and will have you not wanting to take them off. True to size, the standard length is a 34 which I will have tailored to my size.
