Wanted so badly for these to work for me!

I purchased the gold in 8 1/2 and 9 (I'm a pretty solid 9 in closed shoes, but sandals can be different for me), but neither size worked. The upper is just SO HIGH that it doesn't even touch the top of my foot! They're a perfect neutral sandal, but I don't even know how I could possibly walk in them. Three stars because they're a great color and seem well-made, but that upper?So disappointed!
