What it is: A luxurious sulfate-free cleanser that restores moisture while protecting hair from fading color, daily stresses and future damage.

What it does: The shampoo features Age-Control Complex® to combat chronological, chemical and environmental aging.
Caviar Extract infuses hair with moisture, elasticity and shine, Vitamin C prevents damage and cytokines encourage microcirculation to aid in improved cellular turnover. Enzymetherapy® helps transform ingredients into a microstructure that hair can more easily absorb allowing deeper, more targeted penetration of active ingredients. Color Hold® infuses hair with plant-derived melanin for extreme color protection and prevents color washout. It protects hair from UVA, UVB and visible light including artificial light sources. And lastly, Seasilk®, a blend of marine botanicals including different algae and seaweeds, provides exceptional moisture, protection and helps repair damaged hair.

Didnt work for me
I'm not sure why this shampoo didn't work for me when everyone else seems to have loved it. I have dry hair thanks to years of coloring it, and was looking for something to hydrate but wouldn't damage my keratin treatments. This shampoo made my hair feel like absolute straw. After I rinsed it out, I could barely run my hands through my hair. In addition, the long chemical heavy ingredient list wasn't something that particularly interested me. Had to return it.

Perfect if you WANT greasy hair!
Smells great, feels moisturized, but it WILL make your hair greasy! I felt like I could wash my hair, and come out and look like I had not. I also made sure not to use an excessive amount of product, but it got ridiculous! Not worth the money.

it's ok
maybe i had expected too much but i really didn't notice anything special about the shampoo. bottles are difficult to squeeze when my hands are wet in the shower. i did noticed that i didn't have to use alot to feel enough foam though.

I am 60 and have used Alterna Caviar products for yrs. So glad Nordstrom finally sells this product. Used to be very hard to find. Only sold in specific top salons. Invest in what you wear everyday with this shampoo and you won't end up dying your hair way too soon in life. It seems expensive but you use less then cheaper shampoos and have to wash your hair less often. I have tried many supposed to be great shampoos and none work as great as Alterna Caviar to keep your hair vibrant, healthy, natural, smooth and young.

Finally a great shampoo
I received a sample of this and loved it!
However, figured after awhile I wouldn't like it
Not so it keeps performing beautifully!
If you have fine dry hair I highly recommend giving this a try. It's worth the money!

Best shampoo for dry hair
This is the best shampoo that I have found for my dry hair. I also use the caviar conditioner. Have tried to find a substitute several times but always come back. My only complaint is on the packaging, The 16 oz shampoo comes in a pump bottle which is great if you can ever get the pump to pop out. The conditioner bottle in 8 oz is very hard to squeeze after about half way down.
