The gold standard

My husband has had a number of Allen Edmonds shoes and has tried just about every other brand, both more and less expensive as well (he wears suits to work everyday) and these are just the best out there. You have to break them in, but then they end up being super comfortable and last forever. A very good investment.

How did this pair pass QC?

These were purchased on ShoeBank, but not labeled as an F2. I feel like this pair should never have left the factory; right insole feels like there is a crease or something under the leather, not comfortable; serious sewing issues in both welts, missed the sewing groove by a large margin, sole protrudes on right outer heel and is not smoothly cut or finished

Great shoe

The 9D is a perfect fit for me (and true-to-size based on the allen edmonds printable size guide), and surprisingly comfortable. The walnut leather is beautiful and goes particularly well with blue (looks awesome with denim).

Fifth Avenue is outstanding

Gifts that can be made new again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cap‑toe oxfords were a gift for my nephew, who was ordained a Catholic priest in May. They were the second pair of Allen Edmonds shoes we’ve purchased for him—he received wingtips when he was ordained a transitional deacon last year. The shoes are outstanding. He wears a 12D in other brands, and the AE 12D fits him perfectly. I own over twenty pairs myself and remain loyal to the brand because of their attention to detail, consistent quality, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing the shoes can be recrafted and made new again. The wingtips he received last year still look fantastic after a full year of Masses, hospital visits, and daily in wear. We have tremendous confidence in the AE brand and are proud to give their shoes as gifts. The quality and style are worth every penny.

Excellent as always

I’ve worn AEs for 15 years and have worn many different models. These are my third pair of Fifth Ave Cap-toe, and the shoe was as expected. I always get complaints on my AEs and these are no exception. Loyal customer for life.

There isn't another shoe that comes close

Other than Saddleback Leather, Allen Edmonds are the only product I will buy sight unseen. Every single pair fits perfectly, they remain a classic design for work, and their resoling services are a godsend. For work shoes, they remain the highest quality and are well worth the cost. They look good, and last long...buy it for life.
