Classic Wide Belt

I paid full price for this belt to wear with a pair of Allen Edmonds wingtips in Walnut, assuming that the color would be a good match considering that they are made by the same company. The belt is much more traditional brown than Walnut and was not a good match. Exchanged it for the significantly less expensive Nordstrom belt in Walnut, which is a perfect match for the AE wingtips.

SAD.... I have worn this belt for decades.... This used to be a leather belt. Now it is a mostly stiff vinyl belt with a veneer of leather. It is not flexible and feels cheap. Of course, AE is still selling it at top dollar prices, but it is not the same as the belt that was sold under this model name for years. How much money has AE truly saved with the switch to vinyl? Short term "savings"... long term destruction of a brand. So SAD.

This is a beautiful, well-made belt that is a classic style and fit. It looks good with a business suit and with chinos. The leather is a really nice quality and feels good to the touch. I bought this belt more than 6 months ago for my husband, who wears it frequently, and it has held up very well. It still looks like new. It is worth the investment. The buckle is very attractive and makes a nice finishing touch to the outfit while being understated and not overpowering. It, too, has retained its initial beauty and quality.

I've been wearing these belts for over 25 years, and they are the best dress belts out there! This is right down the middle as traditional as it gets - doesn't go in-and-out of style and goes perfectly with any dress slack - elegant and classy. The buckle looks especially great - timeless too. I have this same belt in every color they make - happens to match perfectly with all of my Allen Edmunds shoes (which btw, are great shoes). Their build-quality is also top-rate.- they don't develop the typical "belt-bend" over time. I highly recommend!!
