Chandler Chukka Boot (Men)

The Chandler Weatherproof Chukka Boot is a handsome and well-crafted American-made shoe; the picture does not do justice to the pecan leather’s beauty. The only serious rival is Alden’s 13781C Chukka Boot. Durability is an especial concern for me, and admittedly, it’s too soon to judge. Ask me in a year. Allen Edmonds uses the studded Dainite sole. By comparison, a cheap pair of London Fog’s Broadstreet Chukka Boot, which apart from its other flaws, had a sole that literally disintegrated after minimal walking; it’s worth paying more for quality. I found the Chandler comfortable, and it seems suited for walking distances, even through inclement weather. The fit is somewhat roomier than other 13Ds that I’ve worn, but you should still order your usual size. With wear, scuffs and scratches will develop, but Allen Edmonds assures me that these can be remediated. I recommend them.
