Alexa Leather Satchel

This is the first time I purchased a Mulberry bag from a non-Mulberry boutique (I have always shopped at the Mulberry boutique in Santa Clara, California but it closed in February 2024, so there are no longer any free-standing Mulberry boutiques in the western U.S. ) Hence the reason I purchased the Alexa bag from Nordstrom. I am first going to describe the difference in purchasing from a Mulberry shop vs Nordstrom 1) If you purchase directly from a Mulberry store: -The bags do come wrapped in tissue , plastic protective coverings over the hardware and in clear generic plastic bag. There are no ‘Mulberry boxes’ (I read some reviews here saying their Nordstrom purchase did not come in a nice Mulberry box and it came in a generic plastic bag) I believe this is likely in line with Mulberry’s recent eco-friendly goal to reduce waste which includes excess packaging. -The Mulberry sales assistant had always given me a Mulberry dust bag and a green Mulberry shopping bag. 2) Purchasing through Nordstrom online and picking up the order in-person: I opted to have the delivery sent to my local Nordstrom due to consent of package theft from my doorstep or misplaced package en route. -The Nordstrom sales assistant opened the shipped cardboard box in front of me. -the bag was definitively brand-new, it had tissue wrapped around the straps and handle. The hardware still their plastic protective coverings. -the bag came in a clear generic plastic bag -the regular size Alexas are still made in England if it matters (I would still love this bag no matter where it came from) -The bad news: there was no Mulberry dust bag :( 3) the bag itself is beautiful. Mulberry is known for their gorgeous leather at a reasonable price point (I’m looking at you Chanel/Louis Vuitton etc!) I love that this bag is not ‘overplayed’ and seldom seen here in the U.S. I also love there are no conspicuous logos and I can wear this bag without feeling I have a bull’s eye when I’m walking around alone in the city. Overall verdict: beautiful low-key luxury bag. Worth every penny. My complaint: it can be hit or miss if purchasing any luxury bag outside of a boutique. I was happy that this was a brand-new bag that had not been handled by other people. I was not happy that it did not come with a dust bag which should be standard for any luxury brand bag. I will email Mulberry directly to see if they can giv me a dust bag for my Mulberry Alexa.

The online picture of the bag is not what you get, when you buy it. The bag that I received had no dust bag, had fingerprint all over the hardware, and came in a plastic bag. This bag is also not functional. The hardware was too difficult, due to its size, to open and close. The strap is not adjustable AND the handle is too small, to even get your wrist through. Returning and getting my money back. The bag is not worth the price.
