Alegria by PG Lite
Alegria makes comfortable shoes that invoke happiness. Vivid prints on supple leathers are the start, but its patented footbed is where the magic happens. Soft polyurethane, cork and memory foam are ergonomically engineered to fit your feet's natural contours. Solid arch and heel support help relieve stress on the legs, hips and back—especially good for those who stand all day.

Alegria Paloma Mary Jane PERFECT SHOE!
The Paloma Mary Jane is the perfect shoe for all types of foot problems. It has superb arch support for plantar faciitis, a wide toe box with no-seam stitching at the bunion area, a deep and removable footbed insert to accommodate custom orthotics, and most importantly: a rocker bottom for feet that are simply killing you at the end of the day (or the beginning of the day!) The rocker bottom on this particular Alegria doesn't bend very much as you step. This is terrific for feet like mine that have bunions and/or beginning arthritis at the ball of your foot and base of the big toe area: each step causes feet like mine to bend where they simply no longer bend. If any type of high heel pains your feet, or they simply feel like someone hit you with a baseball bat on your soles, please: TRY THIS SHOE! I'd searched and googled myself silly before finding Alegria. And, I had to drive a million miles to get fitted. Thank you Nordstrom for beginning to distribute some Alegria styles on your website. May I suggest starting with the Paloma in black nappa leather. It's softer than the patent leather and can be polished and buffed because you are going to live in this shoe! Important to know, is that the Paloma shares the same "mild" rocker bottom with the Classic, Donna, Seville, Alli, Debra, Abbi, Dayna, Carina, Karmen, and Kleo styles. The Belle and Pesca, for as cute as they are, only have a "mini" rocker bottom. They simply do not have the structure of the Paloma class of outsole. I wanted to branch out with styles, so I ordered the Dayna. The strap is stitched in a way that the seams hit my bunion, so I'm probably going to return it. I also ordered the Pesca fisherman sandal. It's darling and very comfortable out of the box, but I was ignorant that it only enjoys the "mini" rocker bottom. I wear it to run errands and such, but the Pesca cannot hold up to a full 8 hours at work, not on my feet.
Yes, they are big and loud, but let's face it, they're kinda charming and if your feet are hurting enough, you'll wear anything! My friends laugh with me and make comments like "Euro Edgy," "Fashion Funky," and "Ridiculously Cute." I think we can all appreciate that Alegria has the marketing sense to offer a FUN and Fashionable orthopedic shoe!
Quality: Alegria shoes are fully lined in the softest, most scrumptious leather imaginable. My nappa Paloma required no break-in period what so ever, while my patent Paloma continues to be a bit stiff in the upper, certainly the nature of patent. I cannot stress enough what a high quality brand of shoe, Alegria. After ordering a few styles: Paloma, Dayna, Seville, and Pesca, I remain delighted and almost overwhelmed with the quality, especially at this price point.
I work on my feet all day. The Paloma by Alegria has saved my life. I have amassed no less than 50 pairs of shoes on this painful odyssey. Embarrassingly, the Paloma has become my walking shoe and my house slipper. I have returned to the Nordstrom website to order a fun color because I appreciate that Nordstrom has a very friendly and easy return policy if needed.
Fit: I toggle between sizes 7.5 and 8. The Paloma 38 fits me great and I can wear a thin, hidden footie sock when I wish. And, it enjoys a quick, adjustable "in and out" velcro closure.
Love: Yes, I love this shoe and want you to, as well. That's why I've invested 30 minutes on this review. Thank you Alegria for your design and manufacture and thank you Nordstrom for your distribution. I hope your relationship continues to grow and you add more Alegria styles and colors!

Straps don't work
I wear a size 7 women's and when I bought my Alegria's they were my favorite shoe. I could stand all day in them or walk around on hard surfaces and not feel any leg pain or fatigue at the end of the day. I received so many compliments and even recommended them to friends. However, within 6 months, the velcro closure on the strap lost its grip/staying power and I found myself walking along and the strap would pop open. This caused a twisted ankle on one account. I contacted Alegria to let them know and never heard back. I wish Alegria would improve this part of the shoe. They are otherwise wonderful shoes. I just think that if you are going to pay a price for nice shoes, they should last more than a year.

Like wearing a box
I slipped on the right shoe and as soon as I got it on promptly took it off and put it back into the box to return to Nordstroms. First of all these will not fit a person whose second toe is longer than their big toe. Important. Secondly, these felt stiff like a cardboard box on my foot and yes, I did remove all the cardboard filler lol! I've no idea who would like these shoes.
I ordered a 9.5 medium which is usually the size I wear with a light sock. My second toe hit the end of the shoe. I hope that helps anyone regarding sizing.

My Only Shoe Will be Alegria
I've been looking for a cute shoe that I could wear with casual dresses and jeans when I attend conventions. I go to A LOT of conventions where I am on my feet for at least 10 hours.
I was looking for light, comfortable, cute, shoe with above average arch support (didn't want to look like my Grandmother). I saw this pair and thought they fit all the qualifications.
I ordered them and was pleasantly surprised to find that they were very light. I wore them to a convention right away and found they were WONDERFUL!!!
My feet were not tired, my arches were supported and frankly I forgot they were a new pair of shoes. I didn't have to change shoes for entire 4 days I was at the convention!
The foot beds can be removed if you need to put in your own orthotics but frankly I didn't have to. From now on this is the only brand I will buy!!!
I guarantee you will love them.

Fabulous For Bad Knees/Sizing is Off
The soles on the Alegria Palomas make it possible for me to walk almost normally in spite of my arthritic knees. I love them for this and for the huge range of colors/patterns available.
BE AWARE, however, that sizing is tricky, note that the size conversion is different here than it is on the Alegria website. I wear a size 10, on the Alegria site the conversion is to 41 NOT 40 as it is here. What's more, when I got my first pair, in a 41, I found that the toe box was too low [squashed down on the top of my forefoot] to fit. I ended up w/a 42, which is big in the heel, but was the best fit I could get in a Paloma. Fit may vary from style to style, but I hope my experience w/the Paloma maryjane sizing will be helpful.

Heavenly
I am in my early 30s and I love these platform rocker shoes! I have arthritis in my feet and spine. In addition I also have Morton's Neuroma and two broken toenails on both of my big toes. I tried a pair of danskos on and they sent shooting pain through my toes. Then I tried on these Alegria Paloma and I walked around for 10 minutes in the store. Absolutely no pain! I love the roomy toebox! I wear a 36 regular in Birkenstocks and I picked up a pair of 36 regular width in the Alegria. (You can order a wide footbed from Alegria if you need it. The shoe is the same, the wide footbed profile is just lower. You just swap out the regular footbed for a wide. Really cool). According to my foot doctor you should have 1/2 inch of space from your longest toe to the edge of the shoe. I love that I could remove the footbed and place my foot on top to see if I had enough space. And I did. The shoes are made with real leather. I love the fun colors! Customer service said you should order replacement footbeds every year they are $24 from Alegria's website. Make sure you try on a few sizes. I LOVE these shoes!
