Kestenberg No BS Leather Backpack

This backpack had everything I wanted on paper. I got this last year on clearance, so the issue I had might have been fixed. That issue was the magnetic flap closure, specifically when using this as a backpack. The magnet is not strong enough by a long shot to be the actual closure of a backpack, so people were constantly telling me my bag was open, which isn’t good because I couldn’t see it! Mine did not have a zipper closure or anything other than the magnetic flap, so my bag was hanging open all the time and stuff fell out if I had to bend over at all. Carrying this bag as a purse was fine, but mine was very soft (nice leather), so it didn’t hold its shape well. Again a beautiful leather convertible backpack/purse combo is right up my alley, but carrying this in any alley will get you robbed.

The size of this bag is perfect for my everyday use. I do not like having an overly heavy and stuffed bag so this works great for me, personally. There is plenty of room and multiple areas to store stuff, including putting small items inside the front flap or in the back sleeve/pocket. I even bought a separate longer crossbody interchangeable strap so I can wear it even more ways other than shoulder or backpack style. I also love the black on black detail and the matte pebbled leather look.

The bag itself is nice, just not what I was expecting from the pictures. Even the picture with the person carrying the bag…it looks larger than it actually is. I ordered in both black and brown thinking it would be my new work bag but will not even fit my surface. Strap is not adjustable to make longer than waist length…overall just not what I was expecting.

I had this one my wishlist and unfortunately the color I wanted sold out before I could grab it. After watching the listing for several days, I got super lucky and was able to purchase it. As soon as I opened the box, I knew I’d love it. It is the perfect size- that medium sized bag that is practical and stylish. It’s not meant to hold your laptop, so don’t think it’s your new work bag. But it definitely holds up to carrying my toddler’s stuff around. I love the option to carry as a shoulder bag too. I’ve had no issues with the magnetic closure either. If this bag comes back in stock, grab it!

Got the tan and love it. It’s the perfect size for me (I’m 5’3). Wanted more of a medium purse size than an regular backpack size so this just what I was looking for. Flap seems to stay closed just fine - but I also don’t stuff it completely full. Magnetic flap is secure and there is a zipper area built into the flap and another secure area on the back with magnetic snap. Very happy with it and keeping it!

This bag was my surprise purchase during this year's NSale. Perfect size...not too small and not too big. I am 5'2" so it works for me. Unless you're planning on stuffing the bag to the brim I don't understand why people are saying they're afraid of the bag spilling their belongings while in use. The magnet is quite sufficient to keep the bag closed imo. The leather is nice and soft. I purchased the camel color.
