Smokey, earthy, rich vetiver
This balm has a fragrance that won't work for everyone. Personally bli d bought this hand cream, and at first the vetiver, patchouli and bergamot rind really surprised me with how string and earthy this smelled- I eventually grew to like the fragrance, however. It reminds me if old Indian apothecaries so it's a win for me lol. The hydrating properties of this balm are incomparable to my previous purchases-- and I'm obsessed with handcream-- so that's another pro to add to the list. Another thing I'd like to mention is the reverence cream seems to work better at moisturizing than the resurrection hand balm which offers a ginger, inviting citrus aroma as opposed to this one that so medicinal. I don't particularly find this masculine at all- sure a man can use it, but it boils down to personal preference and I find it to be a suitable treat for my sensitive hands. ^^

So disappointing
I have the reverence hand wash and I love its smell. I thought the hand cream would smell the same but it really doesn’t. It almost smells like it’s slightly off or old. Not sure if these things have a use by date? Nothing like the hand wash fragrance. Won’t be buying again.

it IS VERY smoky and mannish
I didn’t believe the reviews. I thought oh this can’t be THAT manly of a scent. I was wrong. It’s very masculine. That said, it’s grown on me and it’s sooo moisturizing and not greasy. I keep it on my
Nightstand and put it on before bed and it’s amazing. But for real it smells like a man scent. Like a sexy man. But def a man.

Too woodsy and smokey
I read the great reviews and ordered this. I should have double checked the ingredients to make sure i know the smell. It smells so bitter! I love woodsy, manly, cool scents but this is weirdly too much smoke and forest for me. So before you order make sure you know what Vetiver and Bergamot rind smell like. I will be reordering Aesop but will go into the store to make sure i don't make another mistake. Aesop is otherwise one of the few brands that use great ingredients and minimize chemicals. Just asked my husband and he likes the smell. So this would be a great man gift.

intoxicating smell
Highly recommend. I treat myself to this lux hand balm at night. Expensive, yes, but if you appreciate quality and aromatherapy, it's totally worth it. Non greasy feeling, scent is very strong but I like the woodsy and warm tones.

Best gift for the man in your life
Purchased this scent of lotion for my bf. Glad I did. He loved the scent. It goes on smooth, leaving hands feeling soft and moisturized.

Not worth the cost!
I have used hundreds of hand balms and am always looking for the next great one. From the reviews, it sounded like this would be on the one. However - it was OK. Smelled OK. Basically Aesop is a fine hand balm - but NOT worth the cost.
