elusively perfect in every way
I’ve been searching for this scent for decades. It’s unique and the words woody and smokey don”t quite capture its green earthiness. It’s not the least bit sweet yet somehow not overtly masculine. It is very frankincense forward for those who know what real frankincense smells like. The cypress and vetiver soften the resin of frankincense without compromising its depth. Scents are highly individual and i recommend visiting your local nordstrom or aesop shop (if nearby) to try this on yourself. It’s different and beautiful and like no other perfume I’ve ever tried

Still undecided
I had some points to spend at Space Nk so decided to treat myself to this as love Aesop and am partial to an earth fragrance however I have to admit I am finding this difficult to wear. It’s very heavy on the Frankincense so gives me church vibes. Not sure it’s for every day. Kinda wish I had gone for Karst instead :(

A WINTER FAVOURITE
Really happy with Aesop Hwyl. It smells smoky and warm and it is very strong scent, not for the faint of heart! One or two sprays will last well throughout the day. It feels high quality and it is just a very Aesop fragrance, strong botanical scent —definitely one I keep reaching for during the colder months. The only downside is the price that keeps going up.

Another winner
I have been working my way thru the discovery anthology and to be honest it hard to choose between them as they are all such lovely compositions. This is another lovely spicy fragrance. Nothing too overwhelming and it all blends together nicely with wood notes. A touch of vetiver keeps it from being too heavy and masculine. Another beautiful perfume.

An all-time favourite
This is one of my all-time favourite fragrances. It’s a green, forest-y fragrance with hinoki, cypress and vetiver. It calls to mind a tranquil Japanese forest or the inside of a log cabin. It wears nicely on the skin, and projection and sillage are good. I think it works as both a fresh spring/summer fragrance and a bolder autumn/winter one. I remember falling in love with this fragrance when it was first released, and it’s still in my regular rotation today. I also love that it now comes in a 100ml bottle, making it even better value for money.

Woodsy wintery fragrance
This is my go-to fragrance for the fall / winter months. It has a lovely complex woody, earthy, and herbal notes. It is absolutely stunning. I'd say it works well as a unisex fragrance. It lasts quite a few hours on my skin, so I'd say it has longevity too.
