Charlie Eyelet Embroidered Smock Waist Slit Skirt

I did not want to love this skirt. Of the three I tried it was the most expensive. But when I tried it on, I knew immediately it was the one! First, the wide smocking at the waist is slimming and puts the widest part of the skirt where I want it, on a dropped waist. The eyelet material is beautiful. But here's where this skirt won me over. It has pockets AND two slits! It's also lined to the knees. The slits make this way less matronly and much cooler for summer. The lining offers some depth and prevents see-through but lets the eyelet material show on the lower leg. It is long. I'm 5'4" with a short waist and long legs and this one came to an inch above the floor on me when I wore it with the top of the skirt sitting at my natural waist line. I can pull it up to make it shorter but then I'd lose the drop waist effect that I love. So, I'm committed to the length. The scalloped hem would be difficult to shorten. I plan on wearing this with a white ribbed tank top and a bright blue bomber jackets. Look out Summer!
