Ruthie Woven Ballet Flat (Women)

Style/Shape: I disagree with the other review that these look matronly. I think they are actually a modern take on something that’s timeless and is a look in line with current trends. Yes, the top of the shoe sits higher than your traditional ballet flat (like the Felicia), but the elongated almond toe really makes it look quite elevated and elegant. Fit: While they fit just a TINY bit longer than TTS, sizing down for me would’ve been too small. I have worn it pretty consistently for the last month and it has been very comfortable. I don’t feel like I had to “break them in” per se, but they do soften/loosen up just a little bit and become slightly more comfortable. My feet are probably a little wider than the average feet, and while these definitely have a slimmer profile, they haven’t been uncomfortable to me. I would suggest giving it a try even if you have slighter wider feet. I’ve been meaning to upgrade my ballet shoes game, and have tried on ones that are $300+, and I am glad I kept these ones. I would say overall these are great value and fits well. The verdict is still out if they remain durable over time and are comfortable for long walks!

Wanted to love these shoes because I love the woven leather. Had to go up half a size since my normal 7.5 was too small. Even at an 8 they are not that comfortable. I’ve noticed that with this shoe and with the Mary Jane Michaela the sole is like nothing. My other older Sam Edelman flats never felt that way. Like every other company, they’ve gone down on quality while prices have stayed the same or gone higher.
