6-Inch Waterproof Bean Boot (Women)

I wanted to try these boots for the longest time, and based on the reviews, was excited to finally get a pair. I am a standard size 8 M, and I bought the boots in a size 8. I was shocked at how unbelievably large these boots are--my feet were swimming in them. Further, the left boot fit slightly more snugly than the right, which may or may not have been a defect of the pair that was sent to me. I brought them back to my local Paramus store and tried the 7 M on. Again, my feet were swimming in the boots. Even with thick, wool socks on, with so much room in the boot, walking in them was uncomfortable. I read somewhere that LL Bean boots are handmade. Maybe this has something to do with the size inconsistency, but they were a disappointment. A person shouldn't have to buy a boot 2 sizes smaller than their usual shoe size. I returned them.
