Gastone Perforated Espadrille (Women)

These shoes are exquisite, with beautiful materials, sleek design and superb craftsmanship - qualities Italian shoes are known for. But they are also a bit stiff and tight in the toebox, with little arch support (they do have a soft padded footbed) and not a lot of cushioning in the sole. From the picture, I expected them to be more comfortable. I'm keeping them because they look so great, but am wearing them at home to break them in. Hopefully, that will work.

This is a really lovely espadrille which is beautifully constructed with buttery soft leather, a cushioned insole and metallic threads woven into the braid. They didn't have my size, so I went up a half size as I did with another Amalfi purchase, but the larger size was too long for my foot. Suggest ordering your usual size if you like the look of this lovely espadrille.

Have purchased Amalfi/Rangoni shoes before and they fit well. While I liked the design of this espadrille with a lower vamp, as a previous reviewer had stated, it was very tight at the toe area. They did not provide enough room for the front of the foot. Also the color was not as I had expected; on the website, it was a nice taupe, but the real color was lighter and cannot even describe what this color was. Unfortunately, I returned them.
