What it is: A base and top coat duo designed to hold shine and wear for your nail color even longer, delivering salon-quality results.

Duo includes:
- Gel Lab Pro Base Coat (0.5 oz.): a base coat that combines epoxy resin and polyvinyl butyral to create a mesh-like coating for your nails, designed to fuse with lacquer to act as a super binding layer while also strengthening and fortifying weak, brittle nails.
- Gel Lab Pro Top Coat (0.5 oz.): a top coat with dual polymer technology to create a long-lasting, durable and high-shine finish for your manicure.

How to use: Apply the base coat prior to your nail color. Let dry completely. After applying two coats of nail color—taking care to let each coat dry—apply one layer of top coat.

Only polish I will use now

I’m not sure where these other reviewers are coming from, but this is one of the only brands that actually last a long time. I’ve never had any issues with peeling or chipping in the first 4 days or so and I’m an RN and wash my hands like 700x/day! When I’m not working this polish will last me a week or more and it gives you that fresh pedicure look when you use it on your toes! It’s pretty much the only polish I’ll buy but you have to use the gel lab pro basecoat/topcoat with gel lab pro colors. Buff up the surface of your nails with a fine file block, wipe with alcohol, wait two minutes in between each coat, and there you have it! The closest thing to a uv gel manicure!

Wrecked my nails

I've tried using Deborah Lippman Gel Lab twice now: once a few years ago with the first formulation in the clear bottles, and again last month with the new formula. This product severely damaged my nails both times. I removed it properly, not peeling it or picking at it but using nail polish remover. Afterward, the top layers of all my nails were chipping and feeling off and the nails were very weak and tore easily. My nails are usually strong and healthy, even with other nail polishes, so the damage is definitely being caused by this product.

This works and lasts!!

Not sure why all the low reviews here, but think this set is fantastic! I’ve tried numerous non-gel brands, from your drugstore to high end and this set is the only one that keeps the nail polish on past five days, with minimal chipping, like super minimal. I never wore polish for more than 2-3 days because of all the chipping, no matter the top coat, frustrating! Because of that, barely wore polish and just did gel a few times a year. I’ve been using this for 2 months and each time, the polish lasts 5-7 days. Currently wearing A Fine Romance by DL and it’s been a week. DL is for real! Follow directions, 2 minutes for each coat and you’re done. Easy off also!

Quick drying, long lasting

I used this for the first time a little over a week ago, and my manicure still looks perfect! I normally change my nail color every couple days, but I haven't had the heart to do that when I've been chip-free despite washing dishes and all the usual stuff I do that causes chips and peeling.

OK

On the hunt for Grey polish... which is my go-to color, I happened on this line. I am currently using the Chanel long lasting polish. I liked how it went on, but missed Chanel’s great Basecoat/ Ridgefiller. Sadly they chipped after 2 days.... so not very long lasting for me. I get 4-6 out of the Chanel. The only truly long lasting polish I have found is Static.... but it dries out my nails so severely that they chip/peal and never grow long. Too good to be true.... maybe!

Not for me unfortunately

I was really looking forward to using this product, hoping that it would help keep my polish fresh. Not so. It chipped almost immediately! Sadly, I must return this.
