'Rub' Boot

I had been eyeing these boots for a few years, but the price has always put me off. Finally this year, after an exhaustive and fruitless search for less expensive boots (I can be a little picky), I decided to splurge on these. So far I have no regrets! I love them. They are surprisingly lightweight — with the thicker sole and sort of combat boot style, I expected some weight and clunkiness, but nope — and the sole is quite flexible so they are really comfortable to walk in. Perfect for Portland, OR where I walk most places. The ankle opening is a little wide, which some people might not like but I think it looks cute that way (plus it makes them easy to slide on without having to untie/tie). I would say they run a little large. I am typically a size 10 and I ordered the 41, and there is a little extra room in front of my toes, but I think that'll work out in the winter with thicker socks. The width seem standard though. If you are on the fence, go for it!

Unfortunately, Nordstrom's failed to indicate in the product description that this boot is shipped from overseas and not directly from Nordstrom. Therefore, customers are at increased risk of receiving boots that lack quality control with regard to the condition and its packaging as well. Further, the photo does not accurately depict the boot's finish. Rather, it's misleading and gives the appearance of a shiny and unblemished rubber material. However, the boot I received is a dull (faded) black finish with multiple scuff and "blooming" marks throughout the rubber. Additionally, the boots arrived unlaced and packaged with torn tissue paper in a damaged box. I immediately returned the boots to my local Nordstrom store following receipt of this unacceptable order. I informed the manager of the shoe department that per the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) retailer rules and regulations, merchants are required by law to advertise products accurately both in description and images. Moreover, Nordstrom described and depicted a boot that significantly differed in both the finish and quality from the one I received. In addition, Nordstrom neglected to inform customers that this is a "drop ship" item. Shame on Nordstrom corporate for violating the FTC's designated seller policies and for putting customers at risk of receipt of damaged products and/or items not as described and pictured!
