2976 Chelsea Boot (Women)

I wear a size 8.5 (regular width) in all brands except for Nisolo, which I wear a 9. In running shoes I usually get in a 9 to adjust for any swelling during longer activities. I tried these in an 8 and 9 because I was unsure. They both fit in length and overall I liked the fit of the 8 better, but it was too tight across the top of my foot (even while wearing thin, no snow socks). So a 9 it is! The 9 is a little loose overall, so I will plan to wear “boot socks” to help the fit. In the photo I have the size 9 on my right foot and the size 8 on my left.

These boots squeak very loudly with every step. Dr. Martens took them back as defective and sent me another pair that seemed ok at first, and then they started squeaking like the original pair. My husband bought the men's version not made in Vietnam, and his boots don't make a sound (purchased at the same time in-store). The quality of Dr. Martens has really slid downhill. Such a shame. I loved this brand!
