Ribbed Balloon Sleeve Cotton Blend Sweater

I got this piece as part of a Trunk Club box. I was very happy that I received this as it's not something that I would have picked out myself, but it's something that I absolutely love wearing. It's comfortable, soft, and fits well. Its also a nice basic top that can add a little flair to an outfit. Now to the reason that I'm rating this 3 stars instead of 5. I received this piece on Oct 18, 2021 and am now writing this review on January 27, 2022. In the 3 months that I have had this piece, it is clear that the quality is not great. I treat my clothing well and typically keep pieces for years and years. In 3 months I have started to see loose stitches at random points along the sweater. Since this is a knit sweater, and the loose threats are NOT along seams, it means that I cannot burn off or snip off the loose threads as that would create a hole in the material. The only way to fix is to pull the loose loop/thread through the inside of the sweater and secure. For something I've owned for 3 months, and have only worn a handful of times, this is not worth it. I will keep the sweater and continue wearing it, but I expect I won't even get a full year's worth of wear out of this until it falls apart.

So yes this sweater is soft and the sleeves are perfect but the stitching down the front of the top is crooked so...looks cheap. The overall appearance is not like the photo....looks like low quality. Returning. So disappointed. I needed a cute gray top. Oh and as for sizing, I am an XL normally due to a large chest but the Large was just right....not roomy but not tight either. If you want it “blousy” I think you should order your normal size.

First let me say get this now while its on sale, I was fortunate to try this on in store and get the right fit. I am 5'6 and I wear a 14/32 in jeans and trousers, a 36 DD and sometimes a Medium or Large shirt depending on the cut, I didn't want this shirt to be overtly draped so I tried the medium charcoal grey and love the way it fit my body and I bought it. The balloon sleeves gives it a princess charm and the texture of the material feels good, the v neck is not too low so it's even work appropriate. I am going to pair this with my straight leg black jeans, booties and my long necklace for a chic holiday look.

So surprised at all the positive reviews of this sweater. I found the quality to be disappointing (very thin material, more of a sweater-ish blouse), and the fit was unflattering. It looked much shorter on me than the model, and I sized up for a baggy fit. Do not buy if you even remotely have a long torso or are expecting a warm, high quality sweater. This one's going back.
