Vinyl Cream Lip Stain

I purchased this on a whim from the gal at the counter. I ordered #407 Carmin (which by the way doesn't show on the website, I wonder if it's out of stock - mine had to be ordered & shipped from another store because they were out of it at my local store). The color is beautiful for fall. It has a little red in it & a little purple, but a good combo of both. I have pale (very) skin and green eyes. If you let this dry sufficiently (it doesn't dry all that quick - probably takes about 10 minutes), it is much longer lasting. However, don't expect it to stay on through a meal. You will need to reapply. Your lips will have a slight stain to them after a meal, etc - but not nearly what the color actually is - more like the same if you were to wear a regular lipstick for any length of time and it wore off. The texture at first is incredibly creamy prior to drying, and honestly even afterwards a bit. It is not drying like most other lip stains, its moisturizing, which is a nice change The applicator is sturdy & very easy to use and makes it easy to go in the right places. The smell is indicative to all YSL lip products. If you have never smelled (or tasted haha) them its basically like candy. If you are easily offended by perfumes in products, this probably isn't for you. All in all, 4 stars - would be 5 if it lasted longer but you can't have everything, I guess.

Rouge Vinyle is an amazing deep, rich red. I would say it is a blue based red. I don't wear red much and my "go to" red is Guerlain Garconne, however I was compulsed to purchase this and am glad I did. One thin layer is already opaque. Wait about a minute and add another layer for a beautiful rich glossy red. I have olive skin and the color looks great on me as it does my blond, blue eyed, fair skinned friend. For added effect I dabbed some YSL Plump Up Glossy Stain which is clear, not that it was needed, but the shine was out of this world! This is a head turning red and not bright and garish, but more of a deep blood red.

Throw away your cheap lipstick and glosses. I finally convinced myself to get one of these lip stains and let me tell you it is worth every penny!! I kept buying other brands because this is a little on the pricey side for me, but this replaced 6 of my "cheaper " lip products. So treat yourself to YSL you won't regret it!

This is a true stain. I have SIX of the YSL glossy stains... can't remember all of the formulas... but they are all good enough to keep me spending over 30 bucks a pop for each one. They last, they don't dry.. I can put them on in my car ( I KNOW... DON'T SAY IT.. BUT I DON'T HOLD UP TRAFFIC..), OR I put them on at work. This one in particular is more pigmented and opaque. I literally drank coffee, ate lunch,drank water all day... and had a snack and I still had nice color on my lips 8 hours later. No issues with pilling or anything at all. I got the 412 Rose Mix. It is a medium bright neutral pink that I can wear a lot. I love it for work since I am pale and don't have a second to reapply lip color. I am medium blonde, light skin toned, and green eyes... just for reference. I will be ordering the nude.

I believed all the hype but was disappointing , it is sticky and yes it shines but not enough , the color I got was rebel red which is not red at all , more like a coral and it behaves like any other lipstick when it comes to eating or drinking , sorry but this is not the best from YSL and I have 2 fridges full of cosmetics !!! I also worked in Cosmetics for many years . This is not the best at all.

I must have 25 lipsticks in my cosmetic drawer and many more in all my pocketbooks. I enjoy trying and experimenting with different manufacturers from drugstore, inexpensive tubes to the very expensive at top department stores. In all honestly I think I have found the one I will be buying in the future and it is Vernis a Levres. Creamy without being sticky, stays on my lips with 100% coverage not just in selected spots, moisturizing yet no "bleeding" in the corners of my mouth. Everything I want in a semi-expensive lipstick YSL's Vernis a Levres' Vinyl Cream Lip Stain gives me. I have come to expect great expectations with lip stains and this one did not disappoint. I'm looking forward to purchasing more colors as fall and winter approaches.
