All Hours Luminous Matte Foundation 24H Wear SPF 30 with Hyaluronic Acid

Sigh. It’s so hard buying foundation over the internet, but I had a previous YSL foundation that I absolutely loved. Sadly, it was discontinued and so I looked for a replacement. This is not even close to the quality of what I had before. The color I thought I needed (we need a better chart to compare to our skin tones!) was not available with Nordstrom) and the color numbers are way different than the previous product (can’t we go uniform here, so that if YSL retires one foundation, those same colors are carried over into the new product?). I had to select the one I thought would be the next closest. Nope… too light and even though I have a slight yellow tint to my skin, the yellow undertones in this are too strong. I always use a moisturizer or serum before applying foundation, and particularly important as I am older. But even with pre-treating my skin, this product is so dry that it will settle into any lines or wrinkles one had and amplify them. There is no reflective light at all. It is flat (it’s matte I know, but come on, no moisture at all?). It makes me feel heavily made up, which I hate. So I try mixing it with serum or moisturizer before applying and that helps a little. But seriously, this stuff will dry out on the back of your hand or your face before you can even use a sponge to apply it with. You can’t do a light buildup in areas under the eyes because it won’t spread. This is not a product that works for mature skin. All in all, I feel like I paid way too much for a product from a company I count on to deliver great light reflective foundation. So now I have to start all over again.
