Gore-tex Wins Again
Went hiking through the Smoky Mountains on a nice day in very early spring. These remained comfortable over about a 6.5 mile hike. Up and down the mountain, around and over springs and creeks. Even slipped into one for a moment, but the Gore-tex upper kept my foot entirely dry. Highly recommend.

Weird fit
Love everything about them except the fit. They’re quite narrow, especially in the midfoot. I have pretty average width feet but had to size up a half size to avoid cramping. The color and silhouette are great. They handle snow and rain really well.

Do not recommend
These shoes were received as a gift and worn for the first time on a recent trip to Costa Rica. Unfortunately, issues became apparent almost immediately. The upper material began tearing at the natural flex point where the shoe bends during walking, which is not reasonable given the minimal use. Pronounced crease lines and a tear developed very quickly, giving the appearance of excessive wear despite limited use. More concerning was the failure of the Gore-Tex waterproof membrane. The shoes allowed water to enter rapidly during wet conditions, which suggests membrane delamination. This resulted in soaked feet even during moderate exposure to water, despite the product being marketed as waterproof. In some instances, traction was also inadequate, I experienced slipping in areas where others wearing basic footwear (such as flip flops and watershoes) did not encounter issues.
