'Ab'Solution High Waist Wide Leg Carpenter Pants

Pear shape / hourglass: these are really flattering. The dark charcoal gray color is fantastic and will match a lot of clothes--a nice alternative to black. The feel is a little bit coarse compared to jeans or ponte or knit but they are comfortable. I thought they looked like wool, my husband thought they looked like linen. The panels and tool loop are subtle accents. These are lightweight, three season pants in the Mid-Atlantic. I used the fit guide measurements and ordered an 8, which was too big, so I ordered a 6, which was too big, so I ordered a 4. When the first pair was so large I went and re-measured my waist and hips, thinking the weight I am losing had resulted in a slimmer profile, but this was not the case. These pants are vanity-sized. I ran the 4 through the washer and dryer (extra low) to see if it would shrink before returning the 6, just in case. The 4 did not shrink. The high waist and full length are elongating.
