Whitney High Waist Wide Leg Ponte Knit Trousers

I bought a size 8, my size. My waist is 32 inches. These pants have a 36 inch waist, and a 49 inch hip. This is ridiculously large for a size 8. Yes, trousers should be loosely fit, but these would fit, I am guessing, as size 12 or 14 with all the ease needed for a trouser look. The pant widths are huge too, for an 8. In the photo of the pants, on the model, I am 100% sure they pinned out a huge amount in the back to get them to look OK from the front. Not happy, Nordstrom.

Yes, they run big. But don't size down as much as you think or the pockets are going to gape open. (There's a reason the model has her hands in the pockets.) Although they are quite loose they don't look sloppy. At 5'4" they don't drag the ground and I can easily get away with a low heel. I was worried they would be too long.
