Waffle Knit Lounge Cardigan

I have a pile of Barefoot Dreams pieces that I adore, so I was painfully bewildered by the poor quality of this cardigan: It's a great color and style and looks beautiful out of the box --- but THE PILLS. All the pills. So many pills. I've only worn it a few times to work and can't wear it again, because it already looks roughly seven years old. (Do I need a $200 cardigan to walk my dog or run to the store? I do not. And yet. Here we are.) I'm surprised that Barefoot Dreams is responsible for this sweater; I'm even more surprised that Nordstrom sells it.

This is a very pretty cardigan. I bought the pink and it’s a soft color pink, almost pastel. This cardigan runs a bit large so don’t size up, buying your usual size should work out fine sine you’ll be wearing something underneath of course. I didn’t read the materials the cardigan was made of ( my bad) so sadly I’ll need to return it since I get itchy from cashmere. The other reason( besides I ordered a size up and it’s too big on me) is I don’t see this as an almost $200.00 clothing item. Yes, it’s pretty, yes it’s light enough to be worn in the spring but it’s not a $200.00 cardigan. It looks like it’s well made and should wear well over time. Maybe when it’s marked down I can purchase in a smaller size and be sure to wear something underneath so I don’t get itchy…It is super soft and comfortable.

Pills. How I hate pills! It seems that even expensive sweaters pill these days. The style of this sweater (I use it for a robe) is appealing and the softness is on point. But beware of the inferior yarn used. I’ve worn the sweater a dozen times now and it’s beginning to look worn, queue sad face.
