Ruched Off the Shoulder Velvet Dress

I’m 5 feet 3 and 165lbs. My standard size is 8, sometimes a 10. Dresses are always long on me because I’m short. I needed a dress for an evening dinner soirée with a cocktail dress code. I saw this on the rack and grabbed it even though it was a 12, which is always too big for me. However, the fabric is stretchy and the dress fits slim, so 12 ended up being PERFECT. The ruching is nice to disguise any weird midsection stuff that sometimes happens with bodycon style dresses on people who have more fluff than tone. It isn’t too long , comes right to my knees which is nice because I don’t need to get it tailored like I usually do with everything else. It’s actually perfect as is. I’m very happy with this dress and will wear it for multiple occasions this winter. This dress can be styled with a wool coat ideally. Otherwise a fur or faux fur coat. A black velvet coat may work too but I’m going the wool route.
