Prenten Loafer (Women)

I must have very narrow feet compared to all the other reviewers because these fit almost like a glove. I can see how the initial fit is tight and they will require some breaking in - but, I have yet to find a shoe that doesn’t. Having long, narrow feet can be an asset and an obstacle all at the same time depending on the type of shoe. Given the number of reviews saying they’re much too narrow, and out of curiosity, I measured the widest part of my foot (metatarsalphalangeal joint). It is 8” in circumference and approximately 9-1/3” in length. I ordered my usual 6.5 and it’s very comfortable out of the box. Granted the design does narrow at the toe point so I can see how that would cause some pinching until the shoes are properly broken into any one given foot; but, it’s not so bad at first blush as to write it off as an ill-fitting / poorly designed shoe. My feet are a little swollen now and I can feel the pressure point areas will be on top of my pinky toe and the medial side of my big toe with most likely a little bit of rub on the back of my heel. For reference, I’m a petite woman (5’2”, 110 lbs) who typically wears either a 6.5M or 6.5N depending on the designer. This 6.5M feels pretty good straight out of the box. I think a lot of that has to do with the supple suede. Other shoes claiming to be just suede have an interior layer which is less malleable and that’s created some chafing resulting in blisters. These shoes don’t feel stiff at all. I ordered these in “Deep Blue”, “Caramel” (which is a leopard pattern), and “Fired Brick”. The only draw back is the “Fired Brick” color is deeper in hue online than in person. On my screens it looked like it was closer to burgundy with a slight purple undertone. In person, it’s more of a true brick red in the common sense and it’s a bit more muted. To be clear, I intend to keep them but I’m sad the hunt for a true burgundy suede flat persists.
