Off the Shoulder Lace Sheath Dress

It's a beautiful dress, but just didn't really fit me well. It was a little loose in the shoulders/arms and tight in the hips (I think I just have a weird body shape). Really wish it had worked out, I'm sure it looks amazing on many women, just not me :)

Dress style looks nice online - as do the colors of the fabric for a spring/summer cocktail dress. However - the lace fabric pattern does give it a matronly appearance. The size 6 on this dress was too tight - and the siize 8 fit a little big. While 'a little big' might have been OK - the piece of fabric that comes down over the bust was too large. I brought it to the store to see if it could be altered. It turned out that it would be more work to try and take in. I counted myself fortunate to find another dress in the store on a tight time line. The smaller size might have worked out with an undergarment like spanx or panty hose.

This dress is absolutely beautiful, but beware it runs very small. I always wear a size 16 and 16 petite is my perfect size, but nearly impossible to find. I had to buy this in an 18 because I was unable to zip the 16. right now it is at the dressmakers to have the top tucked. She will remove the whole “collar” place darts underneath, then rework the collar to fit. A lot of work and extra money, but that’s how much I love this dress. The fabric is beautiful and it is so comfortable on. Looks fabulous on a short chubby older lady, so just imagine it on a young, slim lady.

I got my regular size 4. This fit me like a glove. I am 5'6" and 124 lbs. The dress came to my knees (same as model) . I thought the top would feel restricted but, it does not. It is actually very comfortable. I will be wearing this to a September Wedding. You can pair this with many shoes or sandals. Also, there is a little sparkle that I did not notice in the pictures. Wish I could post a picture.

This dress is very figure flattering! My husband loves it on me and I received many compliments while wearing it. Not the most comfortable dress as it doesn’t have a lot of give, so a little tight when bending down. It is very well made, nicely lined and with 2 stays in front to help keep it up. I don’t have occasion to dress up often so hesitated to spend this much on a dress but it’s such a classic style I feel like I will get the opportunity to wear it again even if it’s in my closet for a few years. Also, it’s much nicer than the image as it has lightly scattered sequins which makes it a bit dressier.

Love this dress. It looks very classy. The black lace on the fabric has the "sequin" look.
