'Evel' Leather Sandal (Nordstrom Exclusive)

As everyone else, I love these sandals. I'm a size 4 and this is a great find. Sure didn't take long to make a decision on whether to purchase. I wore them out of the store. I've worn them many times, maybe 3 dozen times. HOWEVER, got a surprise one evening. I had stepped into the grass to reach for something. Got a little dirt on the heel. No prob right? Took a damp rag to remove the dirt and...the entire finish on the heel rubbed off. The heels are now "fuzz" free and bright beige, not even beige, a much lighter color than that. I then noticed you could rub this finish off with the fat pad of a finger. What's up with this? So be careful ladies if you have to remove a smudge on the heels.

Because I was undecided about what color I wanted, I ordered these shoes in two colors, Midnight and Dark Beige. Although the dark beige were very nice and quite universal, I fell in love with the midnight pair. But would they be as useful as the dark beige? Yesterday I went to my local Nordstrom with both pairs, intending to return one. I had the help of a very nice (young) clerk and she also liked the midnight. I asked several other clerks which they liked (as I had one of each on at the time) and most of them made the statement that the dark beige would be more universal, more practical. I am tired of making purchase choices based on what's most universal and practical. I have enough black and brown shoes already. So, I went with my heart and kept the midnight pair!! I'm so excited, and frankly, I believe I will find plenty of opportunities to wear them.

Ok so I have to admit I actually really loved these sandals when they came in the mail and I was super excited to wear them. They fit great and were comfortable, easy to walk in with the little wedge heal and looked super cute... So I wore them out on the town and my goodness did I pay the price!! After walking around in them the ankle strap started to dig in and get really uncomfortable. After a few hours of walking/wear I took them off and found giant cuts on the back of both my ankles from the strap rubbing and digging in as I walked. Needless to say the shoes went back to the store, and it's been a month since I wore them and I'm still nursing scabby gross cuts on the back of my ankles.

These shoes are very stylish, but unfortunately for me, they gave me blisters. After a couple of hours of wear at work (desk job), the right shoe had worn the skin off the top of my toe. I thought I was just getting a blister. Also, they are uncomfortable around the ankle strap area. I tried wearing the ankle strap snug, then loose. Neither was comfortable, and I felt the strap was making a blister. I tried them on several times, over a few months, but ultimately, I took them back. Life is too short for cruel shoes. I recommend Paul Green and Clarks. I bought a pair of each instead.

Evel is an appropriate name for these shoes. Because while they fit perfectly, after standing in them for about 20 minutes you will proclaim them to be EVIL beasts when the stretchy piping starts to dig into your feet. However they are so cute that they call to you from the closet and beg you to wear them again; promising not to injure your tootsies...only to enjoy an evil laugh when you head out (without alternate shoes) for the evening.

I purchased these prior to my trip to Jamaica. I wore them to the airport and I was able to chase my very active 2 year old around the airport as those I were wearing a pair of Nike's. I absolutely love the fact that they are the perfect height, they are versatile, sexy and super comfortable. I wear a size 10 and I purchased the 10.5. Felt as though I was walking on clouds. It works with everything and is a must have for the summer. I'm thinking of purchasing the tan ones.
