Beautiful Boots that run small/go up one size
These (black) boots are so beautiful in both the picture & in person. The description says the upper is leather, but this boot's leather definitely feels tougher than fine/soft leather (which I like & prefer/who wears boots or most shoes solely for aesthetic purposes? Not me/my footwear gets used.). They are fairly comfortable, but I still prefer to use my 2 oz. miracle insoles for boots due to their lack of proper support. They are perfectly comfortable with my trusted insoles.
However, even without the insoles in them, I had to go up a full size. I normally wear a size 8 in just about every pair of boots & shoes I own. I initially ordered these in a size 8.5 with the regular calf. I did so b/c:
1. we usually wear bulkier leg & footwear in the cooler months; &
2. I was right at a 15" at the widest part of my calf (per the description: "15" regular-calf circumference; 16" wide-calf circumference"). Each of the three pairs of knee-high boots (all from Nordstrom) I own are just right around my calves. I am able to comfortably wear all my regular-sized calf circumference knee-high boots with jeans, thick fleece-lined leggings, etc. to this day.
Consequently, I ended up having to exchange them for size 9 & wide-calf boots. The 8.5 fit just too perfectly on my toes: without question, my feet would swell from wearing & walking in them, & that swelling at 8.5 would have been too uncomfortable & tight on my toes. If the widest part of your calf measures right at 15", you will not be able to wear these boots with any sort of leg-wear, even tights. The regular-calf/15" will be too tight for you to wear them with anything on your legs, & bending your leg will be difficult. Please be sure to go up to a wide-calf if the widest part of your calf measures right at 15" or more.
Overall, I am very grateful & happy to own these beautiful boots. I only wish they also came in a distressed grey color b/c then I'd be purchasing a second pair. =:-)

You’d better know how to swim
I’m 5’10, and these almost hit mid-thigh, so even with a mini skirt no skin would show! They were also extremely baggy and I basically swam in them. They looked awful. Maybe someone with full calves and thighs would like these.

not a fan
Not a fan of the style. The leather was not smooth, but more like a nubuck. Size was true

Great style, definitely pro but con outweighs....
Loved these boots, unfortunately, had to return because the calf was too tight with any kind of pant on (legging, skinny, jean_)The style and make of boot is perfect, and I have another pair of Vince Camuto boots, (wide calf) but the calf is too big. Thought hopefully reg calf would fit better, just not for me. I am 5'7" 148lbs. And usually I wear a 8.5 but with vince boots i need a 9.

Disappointed
The boots are cute but very painful to wear they messed up my heels so bad its been very painful to walk and taking a long time to heal. They also started fraying at the top after a week. So disappointed because these weren't cheap :(
